The Citadel of Salah El-Din


Salah El-Din built the citadel and the fence around it using bricks from small pyramides in Giza. He built a well inside the citadel so that the army and the inhabitants of the citadel drink from it during the siege. This well was dug in the rocks with depth of 90 meters.
The citadel of Salah El-din is considered one of the most luxurious military castles built in the middle ages as it has a strategic and defensive location for the area of Cairo and Fostat
